Sunset, entrance, drones and dogs
Can you see the sunset inside?
Not as a plan. You must leave one hour before nightfall. In winter Visit Navarra says to leave before 16:30. Leaving time date by date: autumn and winter table. The park opens at 8 a.m.: if sunrise is earlier, you wait outside.
Do you have to pay to enter?
On 14/09/2026 neither Visit Navarra nor the services page published a ticket office. The 2021 ordinance allows a public price if the Commission agrees; none was published that day.
Can you fly a drone?
Not for tourism or recreation. The rules forbid it. Filming with a drone needs prior permission, including because of the military zone.
Can you bring a dog?
Yes, identified and on a lead or chain of 3 metres maximum. Dogs may not enter park buildings.

A closed desk does not always close the park, and an “open” park does not open a closed track. Check all three.
Does the park close at 16:30 all year?
No. General hours run from 8 a.m. until one hour before nightfall. Leaving before 16:30 is Visit Navarra’s indication in winter.
Can I visit if the centre is closed?
Often yes: the desk has a different calendar. You then miss the map and a same-day confirmation of the tracks. Take the official plan and read the notices.
Is there an entrance fee?
Neither Visit Navarra nor the park services page publishes a ticket price or a ticket office. The centre offers a free map. The 2021 ordinance (art. 4) allows the Permanent Commission to put access on public prices: at the 14/09/2026 check none was published. Guided tours by companies have their own rates, which you confirm with them.

- Visits from 8 a.m. until one hour before nightfall.
- Vehicles on authorised tracks only, 40 km/h maximum.
- Camping in a tent or motorhome, overnight stays in the open and recreational drones are forbidden.
- Dogs on a lead of 3 metres maximum.

Access and notices
What other sites still get wrong
Checked on 24 October 2026. Notices can be lifted or replaced: the source is the notices page.
- The Cabezo de Cortinillas path was still closed for rockfall (a 2021 notice, still published). It is not Castildetierra. It is not a plan B “because it is in photos”.
- The track between the Perimetral and El Paso was still closed: do not build a Carcastillo circuit on that junction.
- Climbing is forbidden across the territory. A famous silhouette does not authorise a scramble.
Check before you leave
The official notices page remains the reference for changes. On 24 October 2026 it still listed the closure of the Cabezo de Cortinillas path because of rockfall. An old photograph from the summit does not mean climbing is allowed.
Notices can change after our check. The absence of an alert on Vive Bardenas does not mean every access is open.
