Bardenas Reales in two days

Assumption behind this suggestion

We start from three conditions: you arrive by car, you sleep outside the park (overnight stays in the open are forbidden) and day one favours the Bardena Blanca if it is practicable. This is not an official itinerary and not a GPS track. If it rains or a notice appears, shorten or swap the days.

Day 1: centre and Bardena Blanca

Start at the information centre (Finca de los Aguilares, access NA-8712 km 0.8) if it is open, ask for the plan and the state of the tracks. Visit Navarra presents the roughly 25 km track from Arguedas, with Castildetierra, as a car circuit of about two hours for a first visit. Treat that figure as a block, not a full day: add stops, a meal in a village and a margin until one hour before nightfall.

The 1.15 km walk at Castildetierra and Barranco de las Cortinas, cited by Visit Navarra, can fit that day if access and your energy allow. Do not climb cabezos: climbing is forbidden.

Day 2: follow notices, not a mental map

Documented options, not a list you must tick:

• The Bardena Negra, with access Visit Navarra places towards Fustiñana or Ejea (South Gate), and the El Fraile walk (almost 6 km) if you want to walk.
• A guided tour so you do not improvise tracks.
• Time in Arguedas, Valtierra or Tudela if the park is limited (rain, an event, the SPA, or the raid announced for 23 October 2026).

The Perimetral–El Paso stretch was still closed on 14 September 2026: do not build day two on that junction.

Where to sleep those two nights

A base in Arguedas makes the published centre access easy; Fustiñana fits if you enter from the south; Valtierra or Tudela can work if you combine other plans.
